COUNTY, TOUCH A LIFE FOUNDATION TO PARTNER IN IMPROVING MATERNAL HEALTH AWARENESS.

The County Government of Kakamega, through the Department of Health Services, has today held discussions with Touch A Life Foundation under the Every Woman, Every Newborn, Everywhere (EWENE) program on strategies to improve maternal and child health outcomes in the County.
Speaking during the meeting, Health Services CECM, Dr. Livingston Imbayi, welcomed the partnership, emphasizing the need for sustained public education on the importance of attending early ANC clinics, delivering in health facilities and ensuring children are fully immunized.
Mama Priscilla Oparanya, CEO of Touch A Life Foundation, expressed the organization’s commitment to partner with Kakamega County and Prof. Janet Kassily Foundation to strengthen the continuum of maternal and child health β€” from the first ANC visit through to safe delivery. She noted that Touch A Life Foundation is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which supports initiatives aimed at improving maternal and newborn health outcomes.
The meeting was attended by Chief Officer for Medical Services, Dr. David Alilah, Chief Officer, Public Health, Mrs. Rose Muhanda, and other senior officers from the Department of Health Services.
