H.E. Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa, FCPA, today joined the world in commemorating International Womenโ€™s Day, recognizing the pivotal role women play in strengthening families, uplifting communities, and contributing to good governance and national development.
He highlighted womenโ€™s contributions in decision-making, community leadership, and public service, noting that inclusive governance strengthens social cohesion and drives sustainable development.
Speaking during a service at Christian Outreach Church Matunda in Nzoia Ward, Likuyani Sub-County, Governor Barasa commended women for their dedication to family and community, urging continued engagement in governance and programs that empower women. He also took part in a fundraising drive to support the churchโ€™s ongoing initiatives, stressing the importance of supporting community institutions in fostering civic engagement.
The service was attended by distinguished leaders, including H.E. Jonathan Bii, Governor of the County Government of Uasin Gishu, Likuyani MP Hon. Innocent Mugabe, and Members of County Assembly led by Nzoia Ward MCA Hon. Collins Chapurukha.
