GOVERNOR BARASA ANNOUNCES COMPLETION OF KEY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS IN KHWISERO SUB-COUNTY
This evening, H.E. Dr. Fernandes Barasa, FCPA, announced the completion of major development projects in Khwisero Sub-County, delivering on his administration’s promise of improved infrastructure and service delivery. The Governor highlighted projects that directly impact residents’ livelihoods and well-being.
Key achievements include the upcoming tarmacking of the Emako–Ikonjero–Munjiti–Kilingili Road in the 2026/2027 financial year, the rollout of last mile water connections from the Misango Hills Water Project valued at Kshs. 50 million, and the construction and commissioning of Early Childhood Development (ECDE) centres. Governor Barasa also noted the forthcoming disbursement of bursaries and youth empowerment initiatives designed to support education and enhance opportunities for young people in the Sub-County.
Speaking during the send-off of Mama Peris Wanjiru Anunda in the Emulole Community area, the Governor called on local leaders to embrace unity, promote peaceful coexistence, and collaborate for the benefit of their communities. He further reaffirmed county-wide initiatives, including the ongoing construction of Kakamega Level 6 Hospital, which will create over 3,000 jobs for healthcare professionals, including nurses, while strengthening the health system and improving access to quality medical services.
The Governor was accompanied by Members of the County Assembly, led by Area MCA Hon. Dickson Aduda, and Members of the County Executive, led by CECM for Finance Mr. Benjamin Andama, alongside other leaders.
