GOVERNOR BARASA COMMENDS VOTER REGISTRATION DRIVE, URGES GREATER PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

H.E. Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa, FCPA, has lauded the ongoing voter registration exercise across Kakamega County, describing the turnout so far as encouraging and a positive step toward strengthening democratic participation.
Speaking this afternoon in Khabondi Village, Mumias East Sub-County, while attending the funeral of his paternal aunt, Senje Anastancia Oteng’o Erima, the Governor urged all eligible residents, particularly the youth, to take advantage of the exercise and register as voters. He emphasized that increased registration will enhance citizens’ voices in governance and ensure broader representation in future electoral processes.
The Governor paid tribute to the late Anastancia, describing her as a central figure in the family whose guidance, wisdom, and consistent support helped shape their lives.
The Governor was accompanied by area Members of County Assembly, led by Hon. Francis Washika, alongside other local leaders.
