GOVERNOR BARASA HOSTS OPERATION INTERNATIONAL – USA MEDICAL SPECIALISTS, PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR SPECIALISED HEALTHCARE.
H.E. Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa, FCPA, OGW, this evening hosted Operation International–USA volunteer medical specialists at his official residence in Matungu Sub-County, thanking the team led by Dr. Ian Otinga for strengthening specialised healthcare through its partnership with the County Government of Kakamega.
The Governor commended the just concluded free surgical outreach at Kakamega County General Hospital (KCGH), which benefited more than 165 patients through the efforts of 30 American volunteer specialists and 106 Kakamega County healthcare workers led by Medical Superintendent Dr. Christian Lamba.
Governor Barasa said the partnership continues to improve access to specialised healthcare and announced plans to establish a dedicated Centre of Excellence within the county to support specialised treatment, training and future medical missions in Kakamega County.
He invited Operation International–USA to continue partnering with the County Government in future outreach programmes and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting impactful healthcare partnerships.
