BUKHUNGU STADIUM PHASE II TAKES SHAPE AS GOVERNOR BARASA DRIVES PROJECT COMPLETION

Phase II of the Bukhungu Stadium upgrade is progressing well, with concrete works advancing and fabrication of the roof structure underway ahead of installation.

The progress follows H.E Governor Dr.FCPA Fernandes Barasa’s commitment to ensure that Bukhungu Stadium and other ongoing County Government projects are completed and put to full use for the benefit of the people of Kakamega.

CECM for Roads & Public Works, Arch. Patrick Kundu, today led a team of engineers and senior county officials in inspecting the ongoing works, with the contractor remaining on site as construction continues.

The completed sections of the stadium continue to host sporting activities, ensuring that the facility remains active as the remaining works progress. The project team has been urged to maintain the pace of construction as the County Government In partnership with the National Government works towards completing the facility within the set timelines.

Once completed, the upgraded Bukhungu Stadium will provide a modern sporting facility capable of hosting major sporting events, while offering an enhanced experience for athletes, fans and the people of Kakamega. The investment is part of Governor Barasa’s broader focus on strengthening sporting infrastructure and creating better platforms for talent development across the County.
