SHS 200 MILLION WORLD BANK GRANT FOR KAKAMEGA ROADS UPGRADE
Kakamega County has received shs200 million for roads upgrade in the County. Most roads will be tarmacked and security enhanced in urban and peri-urban areas.
H.E. Governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya said this today in Shirere Ward of Lurambi Sub-county during the burial ceremony for Mama Ruth Andeso Mutoka, 86, who passed away on 13th January 2018 after a long illness. She was the mother of former Marketing ManagerΒ of Mumias Sugar Company and Nation Media Group, the late Dickson Mutoka.
The Governor urged Kakamega residents to join other NASA supporters at the swearing in ceremony of Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga in Nairobi on 30th January, 2018.
Also present was his deputy, H.E. Prof Philip Museve Kutima and Shirere MCA Hon. David Ikunza.
Speaking elsewhere, Kakamega County First Lady Priscillah Oparanya has welcomed partners willing to invest in the county’s health sector to support the recently launched Kakamega County Cancer centre. Residents can now receive cancer screening from Kakamega.
The First Lady was speaking today during a tour and inspection of the Kakamega County General and Teaching referral hospital where she called on able and willing partners to support the county government’s initiative of moving cancer screening services and treatment closer to the people. She lauded the government’s efforts of prioritizing better health care across the county terming it a positive step towards realization of a healthy and wealthier society. Health Services CECM Peninah Mukabane and her Chief Officer Dr. Brenda Makokha accompanied the first lady.
