GOVERNOR OPARANYA CAUTIONS ERRANT STAFF
Kakamega Governor H.E. Hon. Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya has put county employees on notice saying that there will be consequences over the county’s huge revenue deficit amounting to Shs100M and direliction of duty. “Stern disciplinary action will be taken against wayward officers who have little regard to work ethics,” he said during a swearing in ceremony for new CEC Members, the County Secretary and Chief Officers at Kakamega countyย headquarters. The governor also cautioned the officers against excessive drinking and violation of their oath of office particularly on confidentiality clauses.
“You must stop moving from bar to bar and drink at home if necessary”. He added that he will personally ensure that corrupt and dishonest officers are promptly removed from their duties to save government revenue and safeguard the image of the civil service.
The ceremony was also attended by Deputy Governor Hon Prof Philip Kutima, County Assembly Speaker Hon. Morris Buluma, MCAs, the Chairperson of Kakamega County Public Service Board Mrs Rodah Masaviru and board members.
