RELEASE FUNDS TO COUNTIES ~ OPARANYA
H.E. Governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya joined family, relatives and friends including Deputy President William Ruto at newly appointed CS Rashid Echesa’s homecoming party at Mumias. The Governor reiterated his interest in vying for President in 2022 and presented three essential issues to DP William Ruto;
1. Wanton destruction of Kakamega forest
2. Pumping Shs12 billion for revival of Mumias Sugar Company
3. Inordinate delays of disbursement of county allocations by the national treasury
Governor Oparanya who attended the homecoming in a personal capacity as an uncle to CS Rashid Mohammed, reminded the DP that the government is not doing Kenyans any favours by disbursing monies to counties as it was a constitutional requirement.
