GOVERNOR OPARANYA LEADS KAKAMEGA INTO THE CENSUS EXERCISE
Kakamega Governor H.E. FCPA Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya has this evening, with the County’s First Family, participated in the national census exercise at his Mabole home in Butere Sub-county.
The Governor, who was the first to be counted in the entire county, at exactly 6pm, the official time for the commencement of the exercise, urged residents to cooperate with the enumerators by giving credible information to all the common questions asked by the officers.
H.E. the Governor asked Kenyans, specifically Kakamega residents, to embrace this exercise as both the national and county governments depend on reliable population data to plan, finance and implement the development agenda. He added that the exercise is timely noting that the outcome will help resolve such stalemates like the current shareable revenue impasse in future.
The exercise has officially started countrywide and it is expected to come to an end on the evening of 31st August.
