INDISCIPLINE WILL ATTRACT SUMMARY DISMISSAL – OPARANYA TELLS ADMINISTRATORS

Kakamega County Administrators were on Wednesday afternoon reminded to observe the code of ethics expected for civil servants in totality.

Addressing Butere Sub-County Ward Administrators drawn from all the five Wards and 38 Community Areas with their respective Community Council Chairpersons led by the area Sub-County Administrator Madam Joyce Wafukho, Kakamega Governor H.E Hon. Dr. FCPA Governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya told the Officers to shun away from any malpractice while in service saying such acts will attract hefty penalities including job loss.

“Good administration is the pillar of any reputable institution; We are the first devolved unit in Kenya to devolve our administrative structure to the Community Area level which has immensely contributed to the devolution milestones being witnessed across the County,” said the Governor.

Governor Oparanya directed the Administrators to ensure residents are properly mobilised during public participation forums on programs and projects that concern their welfare

On the Coronavirus pandemic, the Governor urged the Administrators to ensure residents receive the second dose of the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination.

“Only 30,000 people were vaccinated during the first phase of this campaign against a population of almost two million residents; Go and dimistify all the myths attached to this vaccine in your specific areas of administration. I personally complied by receiving the jab in Kakamega, as H.E the President Uhuru Kenyatta also got vaccinated in Nairobi. I completed the dose two weeks ago when I received my second jab” asserted the Governor.

Similar meetings will be held in all the remaining eleven Sub-Counties.

Present were CECMs Madam Rodah Masaviru (PSA) and Mr. Alfred Matianyi (Trade), Chief Officer Finance and Economic Panning CPA Amb. John Ochami, Advisor Strategy and Governance Mr. Musa Chibole, Deputy Chief of Staff Hon. Herbert Sore and County Administrator Mr. Joseph Wabuyabo.
