FINANCE EXECUTIVE CALLS FOR STRATEGIC COLLABORATIONS WITH THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT IN COUNTY RESOURCE MOBILIZATION

Kakamega County Government Executive Committee Member for Finance and Economic Planning CPA Livingstone Imbayi has implored the National Government through the State Department for Economic Planning to support the County Government of Kakamega in forging strategic partnerships which will enhance resource mobilization aimed at spurring economic growth and development in Kakamega.

The CECM said this in a meeting convened by the County Department of Economic Planning and Investments with an aim of aligning and incorporating the National Government’s Bottom up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), the Kenya Vision 2030 Fourth Medium Term Plan (MTP lV) priority areas as well as the views and recommendations of the Kakamega County Assembly into the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP 2023-27) in addition to solidifying the Governor’s six point economic transformation agenda before finalization publication and launching of the CIDP.

CPA Imbayi added that the National Government has been a very supportive partner in terms of capacity building for Officers and implementation of key County policy documents and assured that the devolved unit will continue to work closely with the Central Government to accelerate development.

Chief Officer for Economic Planning CPA David Kulova observed that the thorough review and enhancement of the third generation CIDP will enhance the document and keep it aligned to the National Government’s agenda, the regional development agenda (LREB) and H.E FCPA Governor Fernandes Barasa’s manifesto and agenda for the great people of Kakamega County.

Conveying the message from the Economic Planning Secretary, the team from the State Department for Economic Planning led by Mr Jacob Mumia, a Principal Economist at the State Department for Economic Planning together with other team members comprising of Ms Peninah Kawira, Timothy Anguza and Timothy Waweru assured the County of the continued technical support throughout the entire process.

Also present during the meeting were CPA Samson Otieno the Chief Officer Budget and Ward Development Projects, CPA Cyrus Ondari the Director Economic Planning, Sector Economic Planning Officers and other Senior County Government Officers
