FIRST LADY MEETS HEALTH STAKEHOLDERS AT THE ANNUAL PERFORMANCE REVIEW FORUM
H.E. First Lady Prof. Janet Kassily Barasa Tuesday joined health actors from the County Government and Partners in the Health Sector for a stakeholders forum and annual performance meeting.
In his speech the First Lady noted that alot has been achieved in the health sector but still more needs to be done to attain the WHO targets.
She particularly cited the gains in the Nutrition with its unique multi-disciplinary and multi-sectoral approach in the management of malnutrition in the County.
Nutrition advocacy is part of the mitigation processes that she recommended in order to further reduce stunted growth rate, improve vitamin A supplementation and upscale baby friendly community initiatives.
The First Lady further appealed to all partners to put efforts together to reach all expectant and breastfeeding mothers with testing services and support for treatment for those positive cases and prophylaxis for children.
Also in attendance were CECM for Health Services Dr. Benard Wesonga, County Attorney CS Vivianne Mmbaka, Chief Officers; Dr. David Alila of Health Services as well as Hon. George Mukodo – Public Health and USAID BORESHA Jamii Chief of Party Dr. Solomon Orero among others.
