From Mourning to Mobilization: Governor Barasa Pays Tribute, Pushes Voter Registration Drive

H.E. Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa, FCPA, this evening joined family, friends, and residents of Khabondi in Mumias East Sub-County for the funeral service of his cousin, the late Geoffrey Shikuku Oteng’o. The solemn occasion brought together leaders and members of the community to celebrate the life of a man remembered for his commitment to family and community.
In his address, Governor Barasa eulogized the late Oteng’o as a hardworking and dedicated individual who consistently placed the needs of his family first. He noted that the deceased’s values of responsibility, resilience, and service should serve as an inspiration to the community. The Governor conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for strength and comfort during this difficult period, wishing the departed eternal rest.
The Governor further encouraged all eligible voters to actively participate in the ongoing voter registration process set to close on 28th April. He was accompanied by the Area MCA, Hon. Francis Washika.
