Governor Barasa Commissions Ebusambe ECDE Block to Boost Early Childhood Education
H.E. Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa, FCPA, today opened the new Ebusambe Primary School ECDE block in Khalaba Ward, Matungu Sub-County, strengthening access to quality early childhood education and improving learning conditions for young learners.
The new facility is fully equipped and furnished. It includes furniture, a 5000 litres water tank, two teachersโ offices, a store, washrooms, and a modern kitchen, creating a safe and child-friendly environment that supports effective early learning.
The project is one of 61 ECDE blocks built across Kakamega County to expand access to early childhood education. The investments aim to increase enrolment, improve retention, and give children a strong foundation for future learning.
In his address, Governor Barasa said that quality education for all is a core pillar of his development agenda, noting that investing in ECDE classrooms gives every child, regardless of background, a strong foundation to learn, grow, and succeed in life.
He was accompanied by MCAs led by Majority Leader Philip Maina and the Area MCA, Hon. Bonface Osanga, CECM Education Dr. Bonface Amwayi among other County Executives, Matungu Sub-County Director of Education Christine Owino, administration, parents, and learners.
