GOVERNOR BARASA INSPECTS MISANGO HILLS WATER PROJECT AS COUNTY EMBARKS ON LAST MILE CONNECTIVITY

H.E. Dr. Fernandes Barasa, FCPA, today inspected the Misango Hills Water Project in Kisa North Ward, Khwisero Sub-County. The Kshs. 50 million project is aimed at enhancing access to clean and safe water for local residents.
The County Government has commenced the rollout of Last Mile Water Connectivity under the flagship “Amatsi Khumuliango” programme. The exercise has started in Khwisero Sub-County to ensure households benefit from improved access to clean and reliable water. The programme targets 45,000 households across Kakamega County.
This follows the successful completion of the solarised Misango Water Project, which was initiated in 2019 but later stalled. The project has since been revived and delivered under the current administration.
Speaking during a public engagement at Emuruba area, Governor Barasa reiterated his administration’s commitment to equitable development. He noted that access to clean water remains a key priority and stated that the programme will address existing service gaps and enhance reliable water supply.
The event was attended by MCAs led by Kisa North MCA Hon. James Etabale, Executive Officials, alongside other local leaders and residents.
