GOVERNOR BARASA ISSUES STRONG WARNING AGAINST CORRUPT OFFICERS, CALLS FOR INTEGRITY AND CIVIC RESPONSIBILITY.
H.E. Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa has issued a stern warning against corrupt officers, restating his administration’s zero-tolerance stance on graft. He emphasized that any public officer found culpable will face firm disciplinary and legal action, underscoring the County Government’s unwavering commitment to transparent, accountable, and efficient service delivery.
Speaking during a County Pastors’ Capacity Building Convention held at New House of Grace International Church, the Governor called upon the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission to intensify investigations and ensure that all perpetrators are apprehended and prosecuted in accordance with the law. He urged county staff to uphold the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and professionalism, noting that ethical conduct remains the cornerstone of effective public service.
The Governor further appealed to religious leaders to play a proactive role in civic education by sensitizing residents on the importance of voter registration. He acknowledged the critical role of the clergy in shaping societal values and fostering responsible citizenship. Additionally, he called upon political leaders to exercise restraint and promote decorum in public discourse ahead of the 2027 General Election, in order to safeguard peace, unity, and sustained development.
The occasion was hosted by Presiding Bishop Rev. Dr. Ken Baraza and attended by Members of the County Assembly led by area MCA Hon. Moses Omusundi, alongside members of the County Executive Committee led by the CECM for Water, Mrs. Penina Mukabane.
