Governor Barasa Congratulates Madina Okot on Historic WNBA Draft Selection

This evening H.E Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa has congratulated Madina Okot for making history as the first Kenyan to be drafted into the Women’s National Basketball Association in the United States.

The Governor lauded her remarkable journey from humble beginnings in Mukhweya, Matungu, noting that her resilience, discipline, and determination have earned her a place at the pinnacle of global basketball.

He expressed pride in her achievement, describing it as a major inspiration to young people across Kakamega County and the country at large, and wished her success as she continues to shine on the international stage.
