HEALTH PROMOTERS RECEIVE BICYCLES TO AID COMMUNITY OUTREACH

The County Government of Kakamega in partnership with Buffalo Bicycles, distributed bicycles to Community Health Promoters (CHPs) in Mumias West sub-county in ongoing efforts to boost to healthcare at the grassroots.
Chief Officer for Public Health Mrs. Rose Muhanda said the purpose of the initiative is to enable the CHPs navigate the region more efficiently during their vital community engagements, especially the ongoing SHA registration drives and the upcoming mass drug administration campaign
Mrs. Muhanda advised them to prioritise accurate data collection during routine visits adding that the data is instrumental in empowering the Government to strategically plan healthcare services for the residents, in alignment with Governor Fernandes Barasa’s agenda to provide access to affordable, quality healthcare to the residents.
Mr. Peter Wechuli, the Buffalo Bicycles Programme Manager for Kakamega, reaffirmed the organisation’s support to the County in ensuring health workers serve the community seamlessly.
In attendance were Director of Public Health Mr William Olaka and County Administrators.
