KAKAMEGA MOURNS FIVE KILLED IN A ROAD ACCIDENT
H.E. Governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya has decried tragic loss of lives through frequent road accidents in the county and urged residents to comply with road safety regulations,traffic code, to reduce increased incidences of deaths on the roads.
He made the remarks today during a joint funeral service for five young men; Elvis Lumiti, Ambrose Khasiala, Peter Mwilikha, Robert Sika and Derick Namusende at Museno grounds, Khayega,Β Shinyalu sub county. The five who will be laid to rest in their respective homes tomorrow, died last week when their motorbike collided with a motor vehicle near Sigalagala.
The Governor reminded mourners that his Administration has already rolled out the free education programme for ECD children and county polytechnics in the entire county and urged them to utilise the chance by enroling their children in schools.
Also present were the Deputy Governor, H.E Prof. Philip Kutima, County Assembly Speaker Hon. Morris Buluma, Shinyalu sub county DCC Dorcas Rono and MCAs led by Majority and Minority Leaders, County Executive Members among other mourners.
