GOVERNOR BARASA ENGAGES JUA KALI LEADERSHIP TO ADVANCE ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT.

H.E. Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa, FCPA, OGW, this afternoon met the leadership of the Kakamega Jua Kali Sector Community-Based Organization (CBO) coordinated by their Chairperson Mr. Collins Odhiambo, at the County Chambers, to discuss ways of strengthening the sector and improving the livelihoods of its members.

The Governor said the Jua Kali sector remains one of the county’s key economic drivers, providing employment and business opportunities for thousands of artisans, mechanics, fabricators, welders and other skilled workers.

He said the County Government will continue working with stakeholders to create a conducive environment for the sector to grow through improved infrastructure, support for enterprise development, and policies that promote local businesses.

Governor Barasa noted that a strong Jua Kali sector is essential to creating jobs, growing household incomes and expanding the county’s economy. He added that regular engagement with stakeholders enables the County Government to understand the challenges facing the sector and work together on practical solutions.

The Governor encouraged members of the sector to remain innovative, embrace quality production and take advantage of opportunities created through government programmes and partnerships to grow their enterprises.

The meeting was attended by Shieywe MCA Hon. Moses Musundi, Chief of Staff Mr. Dennis Wekesa, and other County Government officials.
