MALINYA MARKET HIGH MAST FLOODLIGHT REPAIRED TO ENHANCE MARKET SECURITY.

The County Government of Kakamega through the Departments of Roads, Public Works and Energy in collaboration with the Department of Lands, has successfully completed major repair works on the high mast floodlight at Malinya Market in Ikolomani Sub-county.

The intervention involved the replacement of damaged floodlights, significantly improving lighting within the market to enhance security, extend trading hours, and create a safer business environment for traders and customers.

The repair exercise has already been completed at Matungu, Munami, and Ratego markets within Matungu Sub-county and will continue across other sub-counties as part of Governor Fernandes Barasa’s Infrastructure Development pillar, aimed at supporting local economic activities.

The exercise is being spearheaded by the County Electrical Engineer, Eng. Elvis Omenda.
