POWER OUTAGES TO BE A THING OF THE PAST AS KAKAMEGA ENGAGES HYDROBOX KENYA

The County Government of Kakamega is bringing on board the Hydrobox Kenya Limited, an independent power producer, to address the high cost and rampant outages of power frequently witnessed in the County.

This was revealed by the CEO Kakamega County Investment Development Agency (KCIDA) Ms Elizabeth on Friday during a breakfast meeting hosted by Equity Bank, Kakamega Branch, in honour of Kakamega County business community members at Golf hotel. This revelation saw Ms Asichi rally the traders to submit their details to the Agency.

The CEO further advised the participants to commercialize agriculture production for export purposes of high value crops in anticipation of operationalization of Kakamega International Airport and the Airstrip. Through capacity building by KCIDA, farmers have been capacity built in sunflower, avocado and upland rice farming.

The County Government through KCIDA recently organized a successful inaugural Kakamega International Investment Conference where agribusiness, health services, social development and natural resources sectors were promoted. The Agency is aiming at empowering the private sector shd and linking manufacturers to producers.
