RESIDENTS PROPOSE MUDIRI FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF A COUNTY HEADQUARTERS

Residents of Kakamega County today Monday unanimously suggested that the new Kakamega County Headquarters be constructed at Mudiri, opposite Kakamega GK Prison in Shirere Ward, Kakamega Municipality.

The County Executive Committee Member for Public Service and County Administration (PSCA) Mr Lawrence Omuhaka thanked the residents for attending and presenting their views which he said will be considered before and during the implementation period of the project.

Once constructed, the facility will be a one stop shop for all County services and is expected to enhance service delivery in addition to moving out Government offices from rented private premises.

County Secretary and Head of Public Service Dr Bonface Okoth noted that the facility will be key in realizing the agenda of the Governor H.E. Fernandes Barasa to the people of Kakamega County and appreciated the County Pension Fund (CPF) for partnering with Kakamega County.

County Pension Fund (CPF), represented in the meeting by the Fund’s Group Director Mr Hosea Kiili, has promised to fund construction of the facility at a cost Ksh 500 Million, at no interest, on the 3 acre piece of land.

Key stakeholders among them Members of County Assembly, County Attorney CS Vivianne Mmbaka, Chief Officers and other senior officers were in attendance.
