WOMEN RECOGNISED ON MOTHER’S DAY

Faithfuls of St. Francis Xavier Shikoti Catholic Church in Butsotso East Ward, Lurambi Sub-County on Sunday hosted H.E FCPA Governor Fernandes Barasa for a Holy Mass where he made reflections on the strides and plans of his administration for mothers in Kakamega County in recognition of the Mother’s Day.

Key among these milestones is the recent launch of the Kakamega County Children’s Policy, an important instrument that will not only protect children but also preserve the honour of motherhood; as well as commissioning of a Gender Based Violence rescue centre in Shinyalu Sub-County. Women have been perennial victims of acts of violence in the society.
