The County Secretary and Head of Public Service, Dr. Lawrence Omuhaka, chaired a consultative meeting today under the Unit of Service Delivery in the Office of the Governor. The meeting focused on advocating for improved activity implementation and budget utilization to enhance service delivery in the county.
This meeting was part of a joint action plan and development session organized by the International Republican Institute (IRI) in collaboration with Kakamega Voices. The primary objective was to create a roadmap to increase the absorption rate of development expenditure, ultimately improving service delivery and aligning with Governor Fernandes Barasaโs manifesto for better development outcomes.
Participants identified key issues hindering the absorption of development funds, explored potential solutions, and established timelines for implementing the agreed-upon interventions. The discussion aimed to co-create solutions with the county’s executive arm, emphasizing the goal of enhancing service quality across the County.
The meeting also covered collaborative strategies to tackle the identified challenges and establish a framework for tracking progress and ensuring accountability.
In attendance were chief officers led by Dr. Phitalis Were Masakhwe (Service Delivery), the County Attorney, CS Vivian Mmbaka, and various Directors.
