KAKAMEGA RESIDENTS GIVE INPUT TOWARDS DEVELOPMENT OF 2027/2028 ANNUAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN

Residents of Kakamega County and other key stakeholders on Monday gave their input towards development of the 2027/28 Financial Year County Annual Development Plan (C-ADP), an exercise that was carried out in the county’s Northern, Central and Southern regions.

County Executives led by the CECM for Finance, Economic Planning, ICT, e-Government and Communication Mr. Benjamin Andama and the County Secretary and Head of Public Service, Dr. Lawrence Omuhaka graced the exercise and reiterated its importance in line with the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 which provides for citizen participation in governance and decision-making as well as the Public Finance Management Act 2012 and the County Government’s Act, 2012 which require public participation in planning of county development.

The Executives stated that the exercise is critical in ensuring that development plans are informed by the needs, priorities and aspirations of residents and called for residents involvement in the planning and budgeting processes to strengthen accountability and service delivery.

The views and proposals gathered from residents will be consolidated and considered in the preparation and finalization of the 2027/28 FY C-ADP.

Kakamega County remains committed to ensuring that its development programmes respond to the priorities identified by residents as outlined in Governor Fernandes Barasa’s good governance agenda.
