H.E. FCPA Fernandes Barasa, who also serves as the Chair of the Finance Committee at the Council of Governors has decried the delay in release of equitable share from the National Treasury to counties, which has impacted service delivery in the devolved units.

The Governor noted that Kakamega County, for example, last received its allocation in May. Despite the delays, the Governor has managed to offer critical services including payment of staff salaries.

The Governor made these remarks at St. Cecilia Khalaba Catholic Church, where he gathered to celebrate Mass with faithfuls and leaders, including MCAs led by Majority Leader Hon. Philip Maina and area MCA Hon. Boniface Osanga, and other County officials.
