𝐆𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐎𝐑 𝐁𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐒𝐀 𝐑𝐄𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒 𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐈𝐓𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐄𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐊𝐀𝐊𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐆𝐀 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐒

This evening at Lusheya market in Mumias East, during a funds drive to support women groups in the Sub-County, H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa called on leaders to work together for the development of Kakamega County.

A total of KSh 3.2Million was raised at the event.

The County Government of Kakamega, through the County Youths and Women Empowerment program, accredited women groups will be receiving county grants of KSh 50,000 each starting next month.

The county has also allocated KSh 115 Million for the Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises, this financial year, which will enhance capital for women groups as well as individual traders.

The Governor reiterated his commitment to ensure peace and tranquility across Kakamega, symbol of unity being one of his responsibilities.

“I will work with all our leaders, irrespective of their political affiliations, in order to deliver projects that will empower our people both socially and economically.” Governor Barasa told attendees of the event.

The event was also graced by Women rep Hon. Elsie Muhanda, guest MPs led by the Chief Guest Hon. Oscar Sudi of Kapseret, host MP Hon. Peter Salasya, CRA Commissioner Hadija Nganyi, MCAs and Members of the County Executive.
