𝐊𝐀𝐊𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐆𝐀’𝐒 𝟐𝟒𝟎 𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐁𝐔𝐑𝐒𝐀𝐑𝐘 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐌 𝐋𝐀𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃

Today noon, the Governor H.E. FCPA Fernandes Barasa launched this year’s Kakamega County Bursary Program worth Ksh.240 Million at Bukhungu Stadium.

The initiative, benefiting 59,200 students from all the 60 Wards, is the largest of its kind in the country, following the doubling of the kitty from last year’s Ksh. 120 Million.

This scheme, aimed at supporting Persons with Disabilities, Deserving Teen Mothers, High School Students, ECDE Teachers Trainees and County Polytechnics Students, strengthens Governor Barasa’s commitment to ensuring access to improved Education in Kakamega County.

Present were MCAs, led by the Leader of Majority Hon. Philip Maina, Minority Leader Hon. David Ndakwa and the host Hon. Modesta Auka, County Executive Officials led by Dr. Bonface Okoth of Education, Benchmarking committee from Nyandarua County led by the CECM in charge of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Arts, Ms. Catherine Gitau, Teachers, Parents and Learners.
