H.E. Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa has announced a boost in the county’s health sector with the upcoming construction of Shianda Level 4 Hospital worth KSh100 million this financial year. The facility will enhance access to quality healthcare and serve as a training centre for students of Shianda KMTC.

Governor Barasa delivered the good news during the funeral service of the late Mzee Severious Khatswenu Okumu at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Mwitoti, in Mumias East Constituency. He described Mzee Okumu as a humble and dedicated community leader who served faithfully at the former Mumias Sugar Company.

The Governor extended his condolences to the family and encouraged them to uphold Mzee Okumu’s legacy of unity and service.

Also in attendance were Mumias East MP Hon. Peter Salasya, MCAs, Chair of the County Public Service Board Mr. James Wakungwi Sakwa, among other government officials.
