INDUSTRIAL PARK TO REDUCE CRIME RATE – SAYS SAVULA

The County Government of Kakamega intends to set up an industrial park that will create job opportunities to the youth and in the long run reduce criminal activities.

Speaking during a security meeting that brought together security agents, stakeholders and members of the Public at Kakamega Social Hall, Kakamega County Deputy Governor H.E Hon. Ayub Savula said the increasing crime rate in Kakamega has been prompted by unemployment.

In the meantime, Hon. Savula stated, the County Government will open up and upgrade roads leading to estates, erect security lights and collaborate with elected members of the National Assembly to put up police posts, in an effort to enhance surveillance and beef up security.

Hon. Savula and the Deputy County Commissioner Mr. Ndaya Ngalia implored members of the public to volunteer information to the police whenever suspected criminals are arrested, as a way of ensuring justice is delivered to those affected.

Mr. Ngalia further mandated Security Committees across the County to identify areas where the National Police Service can set up police patrol bases in order to enhance the war against crime.
