The County Government of Kakamega, through the Department of Water and Sanitation, has officially received the Shanabunga Mutaho Water Project from the Contractor.
The Director of Water and Sanitation, Mr. Patrick Mukenya, who received the project on behalf of the Chief Officer for Water and Sanitation, Ms. Mariam Were, expressed the departments satisfaction with the project’s completion.
This critical infrastructure development, with a total cost of Ksh. 10.5 million, is poised to bring clean and accessible water to the doorsteps of more 5,000 residents in the Idakho North ward, within the Ikolomani Sub-County. The Shanabunga Water Project encompasses various components, including spring protection, construction of a pump house, distribution line installation, and a steel water tank on a tower.
