MUMIAS MUNICIPALITY BOARD OF MANAGEMENT ON TRANSFORMATION MISSION
The Mumias Municipality Board of Management, Tuesday, held a meeting with staff led by the CEO CPA Aggrey Musindalo to deliberate on mechanisms to improve service delivery and achievement of its mandate.
The team also met the management committees of Mumias Modern Bus Park and the Economic Stimulus Market before touring the two facilities as well as interacting with the traders in Mumias town central business district.
The Board’s Chairman Eng. Mohammed Mukhwana noted that the findings from the deliberations shall form the basis for reorganising the facilities to maintain order, enhance revenue collection and provide a conducive business environment for the traders and their customers in line with the Wealth Creation pillar of the Governor H.E. FCPA Fernandes Barasa.
The Board promised to champion for increased and prompt facilitation to the Municipality so as to effectively provide the required quality service delivery to wananchi.
Traders were asked to restrict themselves to the designated business locations and avoid the unnecessary congestion witnessed along the CBD roads. They were also advised to legitimately acquire rental premises in the facilities and cautioned against vandalizing county property through alterations of the structures in place.
Other Board Members present were the Vice Chair Dr. Lucy Mandila, Mr. Bill Shiundu and Mr. Ramadhan Omana. They were joined by Chief Officer, Lands CPA David Kulova who represented CECM Lands, Housing, Urban Areas and Physical Planning Dr. Mariam Baraza, Chief Officer Service Delivery and Risk Management Dr. Phitalis Masakhwe, County Ombudsman Mr. Nelson Majimbo, CEO – KCRA CPA Chris Ombunya, Head of Internal Audit CPA David Mboya, Director County Administration CPA Job Luvonga, Head of Security & Enforcement Mr. John Otido and CBEF member Mr. Hanningtone Makau.
