KAKAMEGA CLAIMS THE BUSINESS HUB ATTRIBUTES AS GOVERNOR BARASA GRACES INAUGURAL KNCCI GALA DINNER

Fostering effective collaboration between entrepreneurs and government is crucial for achieving sustainable development. As a Government, Kakamega County’s responsibility involves drafting policies that cultivate a favorable environment, ensure fair competition, and contribute to the overall economic stability, thereby fostering a flourishing economy.

The Governor H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa, Wednesday, accepted an invitation to grace a gala night organized by the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Kakamega Chapter, in his capacity as the organization’s Patron.

During the event, the Governor highlighted his administration’s initiatives towards creating conducive environment for investors to choose and settle in Kakamega County, even as he awarded the County’s biggest tax payers of the calendar year 2023.

Governor Barasa also seized the opportunity to announce new dates for the inaugural Kakamega International Investment Conference under the theme of acknowledging counties as the new frontiers in creating investment opportunities in Kenya. Initially the County was to host the conference on February 6th to 9th, 2024, but the mega event has been rescheduled to take place from March19th to 22nd this year with Nation Media Group taking the key role of the lead media partner.

Present were the representative of the President KNCCI, Mr. Ken Onditi, Woman Representative Hon. Elsie Muhanda, MCAs, the Executive led by CS Dr Lawrence Omuhaka, CEO KCIDA Ms. Elizabeth Asichi, National Chairman Tourism and Hospitality Committee Rev. William Owuya, Host Chairman KNCCI FCPA Wycliffe Kibisu, among other leaders of KNCCI and the Business Community of Kakamega County.
