On Wednesday the 28th, a delegation from the Kakamega County Executive visited Imams at the Western Kenya 21-day Seminar, held at Shisiru in Lurambi Sub-County.

Led by the Chief Officer for Water and Sanitation, Ms. Mariam Nyongesa, the officials highlighted Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa’s achievements and development plans for the County, not limited to ensuring access to clean and safe water – ‘amatsi Khumuliango’, affordable quality healthcare, food security, county bursary to support deserving learners, infrastructure improvement, cooperative development, as well as establishment of upcoming industries and municipalities in Kakamega.

Sheikh Idris Mohammed, the Chair of Imams Kakamega County, expressed gratitude to Governor Barasa’s administration for collaborating with the Muslim community by providing them a voice in his government through representations in various positions, including at the County Executive Committee level.

The Imams pledged to work closely with Governor Barasa’s administration so as to maximize the benefits of County programs, as well as the Muslim community.

Notable attendees also included Chief Officers Emmanuel Kariuki (Cooperatives), Faith Gitira (Housing and Urban Development) and Patrick Butichi (Special Programs), among others.
