Kakamega Governor H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa, OGW, this evening led a delegation from Kakamega County to the home of the late Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga in Bondo, Siaya County, to deliver a special contribution of 15 bulls as a sign of deep respect, solidarity, and shared heritage.
Governor Barasa was accompanied by His Majesty King Nabongo Peter Mumia Shitawa II of the Wanga Kingdom, Deputy Governor Hon.Ayub Savula and the Kakamega Council of Elders. The visit reflected the long-standing political and cultural ties between the people of Kakamega and the Odinga family, bonds rooted in shared struggles for democracy, social justice, and the empowerment of ordinary Kenyans.
While presenting the bulls at the Odinga familyโs Opoda Farm, Governor Barasa said they had come not only to mourn a Pan-African hero but also to honour one of their own, whose leadership transcended generations and regions.
Dressed in full Wanga traditional regalia, Governor Barasaโs gesture symbolized a deep sense of unity and cultural pride, as he joined Kenyans from all walks of life in celebrating Babaโs enduring legacy of courage, inclusivity, and transformation.
