CONSTRUCTION OF LEVEL SIX HOSPITAL ON COURSE
The construction of Kakamega Countyโs Level Six Hospital is moving steadily, with the first phase expected to be completed by September 2026. Several adjustments are still ongoing to ensure the facility meets all standards and delivers quality healthcare to residents.
CECM for Health, Dr. Livingston Imbayi, visited the site following the takeover of works by the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), who are overseeing the hospitalโs completion. During the inspection, Dr. Imbayi praised the team for their hands-on approach, dedication, and commitment to delivering a top-quality facility.
The project reflects Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasaโs promise to provide Kakamega residents with a modern, fully equipped, and functional hospital. It also demonstrates the strong partnership between the County Government and the National Government in improving healthcare services for the people.
Also present during the visit were Chief Officer Ms. Rose Muhanda (Public Health), Mr. Pascal Were (Public Works), and other senior government officials.
