ROADS DEPARTMENT HANDS OVER MAINTENANCE SITES IN MALAVA AND LIKUYANI SUBCOUNTIES.

The County Government of Kakamega, through the Department of Roads, Public Works and Energy, led by CECM Arch. Patrick Kundu, has handed over road maintenance sites in Malava and Likuyani subcounties.
The projects include the Butaliโ€“Ingavira Road in Malava Sub-county; and the Seregea Catholicโ€“Muthaiga, Maelo Cattle Dip, Karobiaโ€“Kilimani roads in Likuyani Sub-county.
While representing H.E Governor Fernandes Barasa during the handover exercise, Arch. Kundu stated that the three-month works will involve gravelling, trenching, and culvert installation, with emphasis on sections near schools, churches, and other public facilities. He directed contractors to prioritise local labour and materials in line with Governor Fernandes Barasaโ€™s Infrustructure Development and Wealth Creation Pillar.
Director of Roads Eng. Innocent Ombeki assured close supervision to ensure quality and timely delivery. Area MCAs, led by Likuyani MCA and Roads Committee Chair Hon. Brian Mafunga, pledged close oversight of the projects.
