SERVICE DELIVERY MEETING REVIEWS DEVELOPMENT PROGRESS
A high-level Service Delivery Meeting was today held to review the implementation status of County programmes and projects across various sectors. The meeting was chaired by CECM for Health, Dr. Livingston Imbayi, on behalf of H.E. Governor FCPA Dr. Fernandes Barasa, OGW.
The forum, which is convened monthly, serves as a strategic platform to assess progress, address challenges and agree on practical solutions to enhance efficiency in service delivery. Discussions focused on infrastructure development, health services, departmental programmes and Own Source Revenue performance.
Among the key milestones highlighted was the outstanding performance of County teams during last year’s KICOSCA Games, the successful hosting of the 4th Edition of the Governors’ Cup, and the ongoing construction works at Bukhungu Stadium, which remains a flagship sports infrastructure project.
The Department of Water reported significant progress in the Last Mile Connectivity programme aimed at expanding water access to households. The Department of Trade also reported steady progress in reviving previously stalled projects, including the completion of Lidambitsa Market. Additionally, Butere Hatchery continues to support farmers through the steady supply of quality one-day-old chicks, strengthening the County’s agricultural value chain.
During the meeting, County Executives were directed to intensify public sensitization efforts to increase the registration of Kakamega residents under the Social Health Authority (SHA), in line with the national health reforms.
The meeting further announced salary adjustments for staff in accordance with the Salaries and Remuneration Commission circular, alongside the ongoing promotion of common cadre officers effective February 2026, reaffirming the County Government’s commitment to staff welfare and motivation.
The County Government remains steadfast in ensuring effective project implementation, improved service delivery and enhanced accountability to the people of Kakamega.
