COUNTY ROLLS OUT DIGITAL REVENUE COLLECTION APP IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SAFARICOM

The county government of Kakamega through the County Revenue Agency (KCRA) has introduced a new mobile-based revenue collection system aimed at boosting efficiency and accountability.
Revenue officers drawn from Kakamega Municipality received training of the App’s system from Safaricom’s technical team led by Ms. Moureen Ogutu.
According to Ms Ogutu, the system is expected to reduce leakages by eliminating manual processes thus promoting transparency and enhancing collection. The system will track collections instantly, generate accurate reports and ensure all payments are properly recorded.
The platform is designed to support real-time billing, map revenue streams and enable seamless digital payments marking a major step toward modernizing county services; aligning with Governor Fernandes Barasa’s revenue enhancement agenda.
Chief Revenue Administrator Eng. Joseck Maloba said the system will encourage timely payments and simplify the resolution of discrepancies. He encourgaed revenue officers to embrace it to enable them deliver effectively on their mandate.
Adoption of innovative digital solutions by the Agency aims to expand its revenue base, finance key development projects and actualize the Governor’s manifesto.
