COUNTY INSPECTS THE NEW 24-BED WARD AT MATETE HOSPITAL AS RRI GAINS MOMENTUM.

The CECM for Lands, Housing, Urban Areas and Physical Planning, Ms. Angela Muchai, today led the County Executive team from Lugari subcounty in an inspection tour of the newly constructed 24 bed male and female ward at Matete Level IV Hospital.

The facility, which is now complete is awaiting official commissioning by H. E. Governor, FCPA Fernandes Barasa. Once operational, the ward is expected to significantly boost health care capacity and improve service delivery for residents across Lugari.

The inspection formed part of a spot check conducted during the second week of the ongoing Rapid Results Initiative (RRI) in the region. Earlier in the day, the team convened to review progress made since the initiative’s rollout, with each team presenting status reports on implementation milestones and emerging outcomes.

County officials present during the exercise included Chief Officer for Physical Planning, Eng. Ishmael Makanga, Chief Officer for Public Works, Mr. Pascal Were, County Ombudsman, Mr. Nelson Majimbo, Economic Advisor Office of the Governor, Ms. Nancy Mudeheli and the sub-county adminstrator, Mr. Bruno Ochanda.
