KAKAMEGA STRENGTHENS PARTNERSHIPS FOR AUTISM AND DISABILITY INCLUSION

A delegation from Ready Aiders Foundation led by Mr. Kenneth Apopa, the CEO, has today paid a courtesy call to Mrs. Jacklyn Masicha, the CECM Social services in a move to advance autism awareness and disability inclusion.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the Foundation to present its work in promoting autism awareness, disability inclusion, digital empowerment for vulnerable girls, and community-based therapy services aimed at improving the lives of children and families affected by disabilities.
During the discussion, CPA Masicha highlighted the County Government’s ongoing efforts to enhance the welfare of persons with disabilities. She outlined key initiatives including the annual distribution of assistive devices through strategic partnerships during World Disability Day celebrations, the establishment of inclusive daycare centres, and plans to train domestic workers and nannies to better support children with disabilities within their homes.
The meeting discussed areas for collaboration, agreeing to strengthen partnerships in autism and neurodiversity through joint awareness campaigns, improved service delivery, inclusive events, and policy advocacy.
Mr. Apopa expressed his commitment to working closely with the County Government to build sustainable programmes that create lasting impact for children with disabilities and their families across Kakamega County.
