COUNTY RECEIVES DONATION FROM ROTARY INTERNATIONAL TO FIGHT COVID-19
Efforts by the County government of Kakamega to combat Covid-19 from spreading into the county have received a boost from Rotary International. Rotary International donated hand washing units to distributed in the county.
Receiving the donation, Deputy Governor Prof. Philip Museve Kutima thanked the donors saying the support will boost efforts to combat the virus.
“We will distribute these tanks in all the sub counties. We appeal to other donors and well-wishers to support these efforts to ensure that the virus does not spread in Kakamega,” said Prof. Kutima who is also in charge of the Donations and Resource Mobilization sub committee of the County Covid-19 Emergency Response Committee.
Rotary International chairman Kakamega Chapter Carlestous Shifwoka who presented the donation said they will also provide hand washing soaps and additional tanks in future.
“We attach the value of this donation to the lives to be saved not monetary value,” he said.
CECM for Health services Rachel Okumu was in attendance.
