KAKAMEGA REPRESENTATIVES AT THE NATIONAL DEAF FOOTBALL TRIALS DEPART TO NAKURU
Kakamega County’s representatives in the forthcoming National Deaf Football trials, Sukari Deaf Sports Club, Wednesday morning left for Nakuru County to compete in the National trials slated for 11th-13th February 2020 at the Afraha Stadium.
The County Director of Sports Mr. James Muchiri, who saw off the County sponsored team at Bukhungu stadium Kakamega on behalf of the CECM for Social Services, Sports, Youth, Women Empowerment and Culture Mr. Kassim Were, congratulated the participants for landing an opportunity to represent Kakamega County in the competitions.
“Kakamega is the defending champions in various sports disciplines; as you leave this place, know that you are faced with a huge responsibility of emerging victorious and achieving the ultimate goal of representing not only Kakamega but the entire country,” said the Director as he encouraged the sportsmen to embrace both individual and team work spirit.
Sukari Deaf Sports Club trainer Mr. Cleophas Omondi appreciated the County Government for the sponsorship saying the players will compete to the best of their ability as a team Kakamega so as to continue the excellent performance and sportsmanship record of the great County of Kakamega.
This is one of the programmes that the County Government has put in place to support People Living With Disabilities.
