UNDP TEAM PAYS A COURTESY CALL ON DEPUTY GOVERNOR

Deputy Governor H.E Prof Philip Kutima this morning held a consultative meeting with officials from UNDP who paid him a courtesy call in his office.

H.E Prof Kutima asked UNDP to support the County in developing programmes geared towards conserving natural resources in the County.

He also urged UNDP to support in resource mobilization to conserve the environment.

“I urge UNDP to support the community in capacity building especially on governance and conservation of our natural resources,” said H.E Prof Kutima.

He thanked UNDP for the donation of ICT equipment to support the community in storing data on natural resources.

Mr Geoffrey Omedo, UNDP Portfolio Analyst lauded the County Government of Kakamega for the robust partnership saying UNDP is committed to supporting Kakamega.

Mr Kulati Wangia CECM for Water, Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change, Mr Kassim Were CECM for Social Services, Sports, Youth and Women Empowerment and Culture, Mr Palapala Muteshi Chief Officer for Environment, Mr Luke Otipo (Chairman, County Technical Committee on Access and Benefits Sharing) among other officials attended the meeting.
