GOVERNOR BARASA OPENS THIRD ASSEMBLY

The Health sector headlined Kakamega County Governor H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa’s first address to the County Assembly as he opened the Third House, Tuesday afternoon.

The Governor congratulated the Honourable Members for being elected in their respective capacity and implored them to quickly settle down to their Constitutional mandate of Representation, Oversight and Legislation.

Universal Health Coverage to all citizens regardless of their social and economic status and a Health System that is functional meeting the needs of everyone were some of the Governor’s highlights in the health sector together with upgraded, well equipped health facilities stocked with medicine and operated by trained, well remunerated and motivated staff.

In addition, the Governor committed to deal with cartels specifically at the County General Hospital that have made it increasingly difficult for the residents to access quality health services. Health facilities, the County boss noted, must be agents of saving and prolonging lives of the people and not transition centers for early deaths.

Governor Barasa further committed to ensuring effective and efficient service delivery to clients in the Water sector, Roads infrastructure, Food Security, Education, Social Development and Wealth Creation as well as Good Governance.

The County CEO also assured residents of timely completion of on-going government projects.
