COUNTY ASSEMBLIES’ LIFT DEVOLUTION MATCH TROPHY
The County Assemblies Forum team emerged victorious in the #DevolutionTournament with a hard laboured 1-0 win over favorites ‘The Senate’ at Bukhungu stadium, Kakamega. The solitary goal scored by Koyonzo Ward MCA Hon. Harrison Shikuku condemned the match favorites to 2nd position. To reach the finals, the senators had thrashed governors 5 – 0 in the preliminaries while the County Assemblies Forum team edged out Ugatuzi FC 2 – 1.
Senate striker and Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen was the toast of the tournament with measured touches and fine ball control only rivaled by international players. Despite loosing the match, the lethal striking partnership of Kipchumba Murkomen, speaker Hon. Ken Lusaka and host senator Cleophas Malala tormented the assemblies back line for the entire match. Senators’ coach Hon. Samwel Poghisio blamed fatigue for his team’s loss.
Tomorrow, 24th April 2018 President Uhuru Kenyatta will officially open the 5th Devolution Conference at Kakamega School.
