COUNTY GOVERNMENT SETS ASIDE SHS 400M FOR WATER PROJECTS

The County government of Kakamega has set aside Shs 400 million this financial year for water projects. Every Sub County will benefit from at least one project.

Governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya said this today after commissioning a Shs 70 million Misango Water Project in Khwisero Sub County. Likuyani Sub County will be the next in line for commissioning of completed water projects.

Addressing a public rally in Khwisero market, the governor enumerated several projects the County government had earmarked for completion by 2022 including water, the dairy factory in Malava, revival of the sugar industry, hospitals and ECDEs.

The Governor who was accompanied by deputy governor H.E Prof. Philip Kutima, the Secretary General of Kenya Red Cross Society, Dr. Abass Gullet, the CECM for Water, Environment and Natural Resources, Mr. Baraza Wangwe and the leader of Majority, Hon. Joel Ongoro urged residents to avail themselves for the census exercise tomorrow without fail.

Dr. Abass complimented governor Oparanya for his commitment to development and service delivery, saying his organization valued the partnership with the County government not only in water projects but also in ambulance services.

Also present were CECM for Health Services, madam Rachel Okumu, County Secretary and Head of Public Service, Madam Jacinta Aluouch Odhiambo, County Attorney, Mr. Moses Sande, chief officers, Members of the County Assembly, Advisors and the Sub County Administrator for Khwisero sub county Diana Kisaka among others.
