COUNTY SECRETARIES IMPRESSED BY KAKAMEGA POLICIES

County Secretaries from the Lake Region Economic Bloc (LREB) Counties have expressed their admiration of Kakamega County’s Public Service programmes. This came to light Friday evening during a courtesy call on Kakamega County Secretary and Head of Public Service Madam Jacinta Aluoch Odhiambo at her office by her counterparts; Dr. Francis Sang (Nandi), Mr Nick Mulako (Busia) and Mr. Joseph Ogutu from Siaya.

Madam Jacinta said Kakamega Government has decentralised services upto the Community level through operationalization of the Community Councils which comprises of opinion leaders within the communities with knowledge and expertise in Agriculture, Health, Infrastructure, Education and Governance sectors where Community Area Administrators (CAAs) are the secretaries to the councils.

“Today it is so easy for us to pass Government policies from the headquarters to the communities because of the existing clear and well defined structures,” she said.

Dr. Francis Sang said he was impressed by his host County administrative structure adding that he will lead a delegation from Nandi for a tour of Kakamega to share experiences and learn from each other.

The Nandi CS said he will leverage on the proximity between his county and Kakamega to improve the system of Governance in the former Administration.

The senior officers were in Kakamega to attend a one day Lake Region Economic Bloc (LREB) Council meeting.
